Forest is called a complex ecosystem, with plants and animals, characterized by the high density of trees. 9.4% of the Earth's surface (30% of land) is covered by forests. The forest is a renewable natural resource of enormous economic significance as it produces valuable products with the most important wood used in building, shipbuilding, furniture, tools, toys, etc. . The forest:forests

  • Produces the essential and irreplaceable oxygen for our lives while it binds life-threatening carbon dioxide,
  • Reduces the intensity of light and influences its composition, creating a special photoclima,
  • Dampens extreme temperatures: reduces large, increases small and prevents the formation of dew and frost,
  • Absorbs and neutralizes various harmful substances,
  • Reduces wind intensity,
  • Reduces noise,
  • Increases rain, turns air humidity into rain and fogs mist,
  • Strengthens groundwater,
  • Improves water quality, acts as a microbiological chemical and natural water filter,
  • Retains the soil and prevents corrosion,
  • Prevents the evaporation of the soil and increases its humidity,
  • Does not exhaust the soil and helps create it,
  • Ensures appropriate conditions for the protection, nutrition and conservation of many animal organisms,
  • Produces significant amounts of biomass, offers us various forest products and binds energy,
  • Creates favorable conditions for the conservation of various plant species.

Today, our forests cover an area of 33,590,000 acres, which accounts for 25.5% of the total area of the country, and the trees of which our forests are mainly composed are oak, fir, pine, beech, etc. while the presence of other forest trees, such as chestnut trees, cypress trees, holm oak trees, maple trees, etc. are worth mentioning.
