A rain gauge (also known as an udometer, pluviometer, or an ombrometer) is a type of instrument used by meteorologists and hydrologists to gather and measure the amount of liquid precipitation over a set period of time. This application is supposed to display the daily amount of rain and also have the functionality to display daily forecast (until midnight). History data is provided by World Weather Online and forecast is provided by Open Weather Map in real time.

However, all of the above do not work since no location can ever be selected either through GPS or by selecting location through Google Maps (although this last functionality is quite good as a thought).  With no location, no historical or forecast data are retrieved for the user so it ends up useless. It is quite light as an app, simple enough to use and with settings able to tackle measuring unit selection. Overall, this application has the potential to be a helpful tool for a non-demanding user, but the server issues have diminished its value.
